3-in (7.6-cm)-Diameter High Temperature Jet Cup

This large jet cup attrition unit is capable of operating with solids over the size range of 10 to 5000 microns.  Approximately 100 grams of material is required for testing in this unit. The jet cup unit can be operated at temperatures of up to 1500F (815C). This unit can be operated with air or nitrogen. Using nitrogen allows testing with materials that strongly absorb water.

2-in (5-cm)-Diameter Recirculating Fluidized Bed Attrition Test Unit

This unit continuously circulates the catalyst in a fluidized bed to simulate the attrition behavior observed in commercial-scale units. Data from this unit can be used to predict the overall attrition rate in commercial units.
