Granular-fluid flows are often sensitive to wall effects.  Laboratory-scale units are not large enough to provide realistic hydrodynamics indicative of industrial applications.  As a result, PSRI only focuses on experiments in units that represent industrial applications.  From circulating fluidized beds with risers from 8-inches to 36-inches in diameter, fluidized beds with diameters of up to 7 feet (2.1 meters), slurry columns of 3 feet (0.9 meters) in diameter, and packed beds of 20 feet (6.1 meters) in diameter, PSRI can tailor the experiment to the client's problem on an industrial scale.

We don’t have what you need?  No problem.  PSRI’s talented work force can build it and we can do it faster and cheaper than anyone else.
