PSRI is world-renowned for its contribution to the fluidization communities.  Most of our research is proprietary, but PSRI does publish key findings in the open literature in order to promote more discussion of and insight to problems.  We work closely with many universities and national labs throughout the world.  Our recent publications are presented below.

  • R. Panday, L.J. Shadle, M. Shahnam, R. Cocco, A. Issangya, J.S. Spenik, et al., Challenge problem: 1. Model validation of circulating fluidized beds, Powder Technology. 258 (2014) 370–391. doi:10.1016/j.powtec.2014.02.010.

The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) worked with Particulate Solids Research Inc. (PSRI) to con- duct the third CFD Challenge Problem in granular fluid flow to evaluate the progress and state of the art in sim- ulating gas solids flow in a circulating fluidized bed. Both Group A and B particles were tested at several gas velocities and solids circulation rates. For both particle groups pressures and particle velocities were measured within the riser.
